In the eyes of a lover of nature, Bali is a shining example of what heaven would look like. Home to endless beautiful natural attractions, this paradise island has all of the amazing things that will make you fall in love. Despite being the only landlocked regency, the natural wonders in Bangli are something you shouldn’t miss! It has both some of the most sought-after waterfall locations and ones that still remain untouched. One of the waterfalls that you can opt to go to is Dedari Waterfall.
Situated in Desa Taman Bali of Bangli, this stunning waterfall is located in the middle of a garden. The rarity of its location is the sole reason as to why this waterfall is unfrequented. But that’s the magic of Dedari ― a hidden yet unspoiled gem, nestled in the good ol’ Bangli.
Thanks to the guide signs along the road, finding Dedari Waterfall shouldn’t be too difficult. Upon your entry to the destination, visitors are charged Rp. 5,000/person. After walking and passing through what may feel like countless steps, you will be welcomed by the sheer beauty of nature. The fresh air and mystically cosy ambience in the surrounding is beyond words rejuvenating.
With a total height of about 20 meters, Dedari Waterfall has a vast list of purposes and is often used by the surrounding community for agricultural irrigation, melukat (self-purification of one’s mind, body and soul), and Melasti (self-cleansing ceremony). There is also a stone sculpture in the form of a dedari (angel).
Please do keep in mind that visitors are not allowed to use the water that comes out of some of the pancoran, which has “Melukat” written on it. This is because the pancoran can only be used for the Hindus to perform self-cleansing and purification rituals.
The whole area is covered by the green leafy trees, river rocks and cliffs that look ever magnificent. All of this effortlessly magnify the beauty and freshness that already exists at Dedari Waterfall. From afar, the waterfall appears like a soundless, crystal-clear water surging over the rocky cliff. As you slowly approach the waterfall, the allure of Dedari will pull you in. It has the capability to make you feel like you’re in your own little world.
The sound of the waterfall that soothes your mind… The view of Dedari’s natural beauty that mesmerises your soul… The touch of jewel-green water that restores your body… Dedari is so secluded, which makes it the ultimately perfect destination to break free. Take a trip by yourself or with your loved ones and wallow in the scenery of unparalleled beauty at Dedari Waterfall.
